Description
The Administrative Assistant to the Education Learning Commons and Department of Educational Leadership services the School of Education to meet the needs of the faculty and students. This position provides support to faculty and students who use the materials, supplies, and technology equipment available in the Education Learning Commons. The position also provides support f, including but not limited to budget management, purchasing, and completion of personnel and travel forms for the faculty and chair of the Department of Educational Leadership. Finally, the position will support events that provide professional enrichment and development for P-12 teachers and administrators.
Job Duties
EDLD Responsibilities:
• Manage budget, purchase materials and supplies, process personnel and travel forms, including reimbursements, and handle new hire paperwork as required.
• Complete fall-spring-summer LOAs for adjunct faculty and May-summer LOAs for full-time faculty
• Complete supplemental pay and honoraria paperwork as needed.
• Collect, review, and file EDLD course syllabi each term.
• Initiate and prepare for distribution of course evaluation surveys at the end of each fall-spring-summer term.
• Work closely with the Director of Graduate Student Services, who serves as the Academic Advisor for EDLD students and
• Course Guardian for all EDLD courses.
• Participate with other staff members to support OBSOE events (e.g., Spring Awards ceremony, etc.)
• Provide planning, purchasing, and logistical support for summer PD events involving P-12 teachers and leaders (e.g., the Diversity Forum, the Transformation Leadership Academy, the Higher Education Character Convening, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair
ELC Responsibilities:
• Serve as a part-time receptionist and provide direct ELC services for faculty and students, including posting hours.
• Secure, manage, and train student workers for optimal ELC coverage for direct services.
• Serve as the point of contact for ELC space reservations.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and attractive learning space in the ELC. Purchase necessary materials, supplies, and technology equipment.
• Keep an accurate inventory of technology equipment and submit service requests to Technology Services as needed.
• Troubleshoot (and train student workers to troubleshoot) minor ELC and classroom technology issues for faculty and students.
• Facilitate loaning of children's books, professional materials, and technology equipment through the ELC.
• Act as liaison to Davis Library, reporting and updating collections information as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
