We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting and installation, and specialized testing services to the construction industry.
- Interesting projects ranging from infrastructure, industrial, commercial and "weird stuff" engineering.
- Projects are typically located in Kentucky, Tennessee, and southern Indiana.
- This role requires periodic travel to these regions with relatively rare overnight travel.
- This role will be based out of our Shelbyville, KY office location.
- Performing geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, and risk evaluation on developments.
- Training and supervision of lab technicians, maintenance of quality reviews and certifications, management of equipment inventory and calibration, client marketing and proposal preparation.
- Ability to work independently on broad projects with oversight/supervision by the Dept. Manager.
- Providing direction on a project to project basis – i.e. preparing lab testing assignments, reviewing documents, and testing results for content and accuracy.
- Preparing geotechnical engineering reports.
- Interacting with clients on technical aspects of the projects.
- Reviewing soils laboratory test results.
- Assisting in planning and the execution of subsurface investigation programs - including the understanding of project design plans, locating test borings at project sites, coordinating underground utility clearance.
- Design development and analysis of earth embankments, earth retaining structures and anchoring systems.
- Performing analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations and slope stability evaluations.
- Monitoring and enforcing quality control standards and specifications.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read design drawings.
- Ability to meet schedules.
- Experience with common geotechnical software or be able to utilize software with minimal training.
- Self-motivated, reliable, quality minded, and detail oriented.
- 1-10 years of experience in consulting engineering on various civil projects
- E.I.T. or P.E. capability is required
- Already having EIT or PE licensure is a strong plus/desired
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering
- Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is desired, but not required.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing to travel, and be physically able to maneuver on open terrain. .
