    Fulton Group N.A. is a multinational boiler manufacturer with a variety of market leading products. The company is located in Pulaski, NY which is a short commute from Syracuse, just 30min from the interchange.

    This co-op must be available for a 6 month term.

    The Co-op program at Fulton is a great opportunity for engineering students to work with a multidisciplinary team and gain experience in product development from conceptual design to release to production. Fulton touches many aspects of engineering, from combustion technology to electrical systems to heat transfer to turbomachinery.

    Engineer- Co-op is responsible for hardware selection and software design, programming, review, implementation, continual improvement, documentation, and support to meet or exceed requirements, goals and specifications. This position will work closely with sales, production, engineering, research & development, and technical service. They must have a systematical way of reasoning, recognize the importance of both function and form, and be able to effectively troubleshoot complex systems to the component level using root cause analysis techniques.

    Develop, test and ship functional improvements (new features) to existing boiler control platforms.

    Requirements:

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Graphical User Interface design
    • Programming in Ladder-Logic to meet design specifications (possible C programming)
    • Disciplined bug tracking
    • Quality Assurance testing

    QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications and Required Experience):

    • Pursuing a degree in related field - Computer Science, Mechatronics, and/or Industrial Automation (PLC and Robotics)
    • Experience with Ladder Logic, C, and/or C++ preferred
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Familiarity with object oriented programming
    • Familiarity with electrical diagrams

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Vision - Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, use and operation of machines, use of measurement devices, etc.
    • Walking - Moving about on foot to travel and accomplish tasks, including long distances or site to site
    • Sitting - Employee needs to remain seated for extended periods of time
    • Travel – Work requires travel by car or airplane and includes extended periods of sitting
