South Academy of Internation Languages (SAIL) is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and knowledgable middle school studies teacher committed to the growth and development of students, regardless of background or ability.

This teacher will deliver the social studies curriculum according to NC Curriculum Standards and serve as an active participant in our magnet learning community.

A highly qualified candidate can best ensure student success through differentiated instruction, technology integration, clear communication, and strong partnerships with colleagues and families.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement engaging and standards aligned social stuidies curriculum
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement, critical thinking, and collaboration
Collaborate with other grade level teachers to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum across the middle school
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported, regardless of background or ability
Assess student progress regularly using a variety of assesment tools and adjust instruction as needed to meet the needs of all learners.
Provide meaningful feedback to students and communicate regularly with families about student progress and academic goals
Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to continously improve teaching practices
Maintain accurage records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information
Adhere to all school policies and procedures, as well as state and district regulations

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Education with a concentratio in Social Studies
Must hold North Carolina certification or have credentials to attain NC certificaiton
If you do not possess a NC teaching licensure, please upload your official degree dated transcripts, test scores, and out of state teaching license (if applicable) to the attaching page on your online application.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and families from diverse backgrounds
Commitment to collaboration, teamwork, and continuous professional growth and development
Familiarity with North Carolina Curriculum standards and assessment practices is preferred
