    Description

    SUMMARY

    To perform a variety of fundamental and detailed painting and flooring projects. Preparation and painting of varied surfaces throughout the hospital, plant, grounds, associated or hospital owed buildings as assigned. Maintain and operate all related tools and equipment required in the performance of this job function.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Paints and patches as directed by work orders.

    2. Maintain proper documentation and/or reports concerning assigned duties and work performed.

    3. Provide assistance to other staff members as assigned. Prepare and paint minor construction projects.

    4. Installs and repairs flooring and flooring components as required (I.E. Replaces damaged floor tiles, installs new flooring in rooms, etc).

    5. Receive training and in-service.

    6. Keep work areas, job sites, hospital/grounds clean. Performs snow and ice removal operations as required. Provide assistance to other staff members as assigned.

    7. Manages own time in a productive and reliable manner completing work assignments on time.

    8. Completes appropriate volume of work while maintaining quality standards. Organize work procedures to general acceptable levels of productivity.

    9. Completes own work as required and will assist others as needed.

    10. Cooperates with coworkers and management to maintain a harmonious environment. Adjust work schedule to accommodate changing priorities.

    11. Operates assigned equipment and performs all procedures in a safe manner. Utilizes proper body mechanics in all job functions.

    12. Follows established emergency, infection control and/or universal precautions procedures as required.

    13. Maintains work area and equipment according to standards and policies. Attends mandatory in-services related to safety and/or infection control. Supports and participates in department quality improvement activities.

    14. Provides quality improvements which enhance effectiveness and efficiency of department.

    15. Provides courteous service to internal/external customers in all activities.

    16. Offers assistance to all internal/external customers as appropriate and/or refers customer to appropriate individual or department.

    17. Communicates in a professional manner emphasizing objectivity and nonjudgmental viewpoints.

    18. Assist in solving customer problems in a cooperative manner.

    19. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understands and adheres to Loretto Hospital's compliance standards as they appear in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    High School diploma required. Graduate of a trade or vocational school with courses in painting, decorating, plastering and/or an equivalent level of education and experience including painters' apprenticeship or equivalent.

    Specific Vocational Preparation: includes an occupationally significant combination of, vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training, and on the job training or essential experience in less responsible jobs which lead to the higher job or service in other jobs.

    Three to five years' experience in a similar position. Must meet physical demands for the job.

    Must have experience in a supervisory capacity.
