Job Description

Summary: Seeking a seasoned Sr Electrical Engineer with expertise in shipbuilding for a long-term contract to design and oversee electrical systems for the USCGC Polar Sentinel (PSC-1) program.

Job Requirements:

Considerable knowledge of electrical design associated with division products
Good understanding of procurement activities, industry regulations, and company standards for marine products
Ability to translate technical requirements into engineering data
Experience directing teams and maintaining effective working relationships
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD

Preferred Skills:

Strong knowledge of Maritime Regulatory Authorities (ABS, DNV, NAVSEA, MIL, USCG, IMO, IEEE)
Expertise in shipboard power systems including EOL and EPLA
Familiarity with ACS and MCS
Comprehensive understanding of vessel design related to electrical power systems and space arrangements

Job Responsibilities:

Carry out engineering assignments related to electrical design ensuring designs meet contract requirements
Supervise drafters/designers in electrical design tasks; check designs for accuracy
Maintain documentation/data on electrical designs; prepare reports for regulatory agency inquiries
Coordinate with vendors for design compatibility; attend/support meetings with USCG
Ensure all program requirements are met according to project schedule

Desirable Experience & Training:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
10+ years of experience in electrical engineering within shipbuilding/production processes

Additional Information:

Long-term contract position with potential longevity
Candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card holders; no security clearance required

Pay Details: $36.00 to $48.00 per hour
