**REPORTS TO:** Superintendent
**POSITION TYPE:** Full time, permanent, non-exempt
**MAJOR ACTIVITIES:**
Performs routine custodial tasks such as spot painting, graffiti and trash removal
Communicates unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries to supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting
Sets out and picks up barricades and lane cones, and installs signs at work areas to protect work crews
Assists skilled trades persons with duties as assigned
Directing movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects
Cleans interior of buildings, using broom, mop, dust cloth, and vacuum cleaner
Fills nail holes in woodwork, using putty and knife;
Repairs minor defects, such as loose wall panels, missing trim, and defective door catches, using pneumatic stapler and screwdriver
Drills holes, attaches brackets and other holding devices, and installs fixtures, using power drills and screwdrivers
Applies caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices
Cleans brick, stone, or metal exterior of structures, using cleaning agents, mild acid solution, and water
General Labor as required and directed by Project Superintendent
Listen to and following instructions from supervisor
Routinely cleans up tools and tidies jobsite throughout the day
Ensures a clean work site at the end of the day
**PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Wear proper clothes - Boots, gloves, hardhat, long pants, sleeved shirts (shorts, tank tops and tennis shoes not permitted per OSHA regulations).
Come to work on a regular basis. Reliable transportation is important. Jobsite is within a 60-mile radius of our Durham office.
Call your jobsite if you cannot get to work for any reason.
Pass drug screen.
Work cooperatively with other employees.
Move objects between 20-50 pounds.
Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
Understand and carry out oral instructions in the English language.
Manipulate tools in areas of limited space.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**
High School diploma, GED, or as approved by Production Manager or Manager of Manpower.
Minimum 3 years experience in the field or similar experience
**WORKING CONDITIONS:**
Work is often performed outside under any type of weather conditions. Exposure to varying degrees/amounts of heat, cold, dust, dampness, ice, precipitation, and mud.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**
Individual must be capable of lifting to meet the physical demands of our industry. Activity includes significant walking, standing, pushing, or pulling for significant lengths of time.
