MFS Community School Liaison
Our programs are informed by those who participate in them, as we seek to understand what is truly helpful and transformative in our community.
So much of what we do is to open spaces and connections for people who have not had a way to access what they need, or to participate in decisions that affect their lives.
Through their service at sites across the greater Portland area, our AmeriCorps Members support MFS' 3 critical community initiatives: 1.
Member Duties : MFS Community Schools Liaisons support individual elementary, middle, or high school communities within the greater Portland public school districts.
Supervised by the MFS Community School site manager, each Liaison:
Provides social-emotional learning and skill-building for students in 1:1 and group settings; Coordinates community well-being events, resources, and workshops for students and families; Recruits and coordinates community volunteers; Leads & supports site-specific projects and activities including our school-based food pantries; and Builds community awareness and engagement on MFS climate resilience and justice initiatives.
