- Maintains active clinical practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner one day a week.
- Provides experientially based education.
- Infuses diversity issues in teaching and practice.
- Advises students in the Masters of Science Family Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Responsibilities may include clinical site arrangement, coordination and supervision.
- Engages in scholarly activity to produce publications and related work, including publish peer-reviewed articles in nursing journals, professional presentations, and related scholarly activities such as writing nursing books or book chapters.
- Provides service to the department, School of Nursing, University, community, and profession.
- PhD, DNP, or EdD degree by the time of appointment from an accredited college or university.
- Master's degree in nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited college or university.
- National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Valid NYS professional nursing license by start date.
- Knowledge of basic computer programs and content management systems.
- Ability to work effectively with students, the public, the college community, and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.
- On-campus presence is required.
- Experience with the development of curriculum.
- Demonstrated proficiency in teaching in the online milieu.
- Experience in the assessment and evaluation of effective online teaching.
- Graduate level teaching experience.

Summary
The Department of Graduate Nursing at SUNY Brockport invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor within the School of Nursing to begin August 2026. This position has responsibility for teaching a 4-4 course load predominately in the Master of Science Family Nurse Practitioner program. There is a single course release for active scholarship each fall and spring semester. Most content is taught in an asynchronous fashion, with in-person on-campus instruction for executive weekend courses approximately once a month. The faculty member will also engage in scholarly activity and provide service to the department, School of Nursing, University, and profession.
