The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine is an international leader in cancer treatment research prevention education and community outreach. The Leukemia/Lymphoma Unit provides care to patients who are hospitalized for Chemotherapy pain management symptom management related to chemotherapy and support for immunosuppression and/or neutropenia.Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury including post treatment home care needs medication administration Participates in activities that promote patient safety quality regulatory compliance Participates in professional development Develops implements documents individual plans of care with defined goals collaboration other members interprofessional team patient family caregiver accordance established guidelines standards nursing care Proactively plans ensures communication plan of across continuum care Uses critical nursing skills assess evaluate physical psychosocial emotional needs standards ncare Assess patient preferences barriers involvement ncare values emotional spiritual cultural population specific needs BJ has determined is a safety sensitive position ability work constant state alertness safe manner essential function job.
