    The Opportunity:

    UCF is seeking to fill multiple roles for the Custodial Specialist I. Candidates for this job posting will be considered for additional vacancies in this department. Join our dynamic housekeeping team as a part-time employee dedicated to maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of campus buildings, ensuring a safe, functional, and attractive living and learning environment.

    As a Custodial Specialist I, you'll clean assigned areas to standard, troubleshoot issues, and respond to customer and staff requests. This role may involve emergency responses and project cleaning throughout the year, with occasional rotation for cross-training.

    Responsibilities:

    • Clean and stock restroom facilities following industry sanitation practices.
    • Vacuum carpeted areas, including moving/replacing furniture and spot cleaning.
    • Sweep, dry/wet mop floors, stairwells, entries, etc.
    • Handle waste removal, including trash and recycling.
    • Perform surface cleaning, including dusting, wiping, and scrubbing of furniture, walls, and equipment.
    • Conduct window, glass, and entry door cleaning.
    • Shampoo/extract carpeted areas and/or upholstery.
    • Refinish flooring through stripping, waxing, and buffing (tile, VCT, etc.).

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Completion of 9th grade, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat Click here for more information

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Flexibility in assignments and trade utilization.
    • Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of safety guidelines and appropriate housekeeping chemical usage.
    • Ability to prioritize task assignments.

    Health Assessment Required:

    UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.

    Work Schedule:

    Monday-Friday 4am-8am.

    Special Instructions to the Applicants:

    Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
