    Overview:


    The Infection Prevention Nurse - Registered Nurse will bring their expert knowledge of Infection prevention information that is shared, audited and sustained at our new Ebenezer Skilled and Rehab Care facility in St Paul, MN.

    This RN nursing position will oversee data collection that is continuously applied to improving standard process and quality care delivered to skilled nursing residents.

    Ebenezer Integrated Care & Rehab (EICR) serves seniors with long-term, transitional, and dementia care needs in the heart of downtown St.

    Paul. As part of Fairview's Community Health and Wellness Hub, EICR is committed to delivering innovative, collaborative care.

    The Fairview Community Health and Wellness Hub opened in 2022 to deliver a variety of services to the community—from primary and mental health care to enrichment options for seniors, food access programs, and community gathering spaces.

    The Hub brings Fairview services together with local organizations—including Minnesota Community Care and Sanneh Foundation—to make it easier for people to access what they need to be well.


    Responsibilities/Job Description:
    Manage infection control in facility
    Track resident infections
    Oversee and Track employee illnesses
    Oversee and ensure resident and employee infection control logs are up to date
    Work with Corporate support nurse for most recent policies and procedures around infection control and antibiotic stewardship
    Track and update resident immunization logs
    Responsible for Antibiotic stewardship and sustainability
    Assists with training and staff in Infection Control Practices
    Assists with audits and data collection
    Collaborates with appropriate departments for accurate resident and employee data
    Responsible for the prevention and the spread of infection by identifying and controlling outbreaks through plan of care
    Determines facility precautions to prevent crosscontamination
    Works with other departments to promote and monitor infection control practices by educating staff on policies and procedures
    Monitors for any patterns
    Implements immediate interventions and education
    Responsible for reporting infections to MDH as appropriate
    Oversee the Antibiotic Stewardship Program
    Directs Monthly/Quarterly Antibiotic Stewardship meetings
    Reviews completed "Timeout" forms and ensures completion and appropriate interventions
    Educates Facility staff and Medical practitioners on Antibiotic Stewardship as needed
    Stay current regarding long term care trends and state/federal regulations
    Attend outside seminars focusing on current long-term care issues and regulations
    Read trade magazines/web sites to stay current
    Communicate new information to nursing staff
    Stays current with the lastest COVID information

    Qualifications:

    Required:
    Vocational/Techinical Training or Assocaite Degree - RN
    One to Three Years as an RN ; Required
    RN Licensure/Registered with the MN Board of Nursing
    Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; accepted certifications as follows -AHA: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program or BLS Provider - BLS Instructor


    American Red Cross:
    CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and/or Healthcare Providers, Life Guarding First Aid/CPR/AED ; Required
    Specialized Infection Prevention and Control Program training to be completed upon hire or within 30-days of hire date; CDC offers this training on-line
    MS Microsoft Applications


    Perferred:
    Bachelor's Degree - BSN
    AANACC Certification in Gerontology
