Job Description

SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - MASSACHUSETTS

This position will report to a Principal or designee level staff member within our Specialty Engineering division. The position will involve a variety of general functions, including but not limited to:

Design and qualification of buildings, structures and site work in accordance with regulatory codes and industry standards
Structural qualification of mechanical equipment and systems
Forensic investigations of structural and equipment failures
Design and deployment of field and laboratory equipment
Design and implementation of equipment for structural monitoring
Advanced analysis of equipment, systems and structures using finite element codes
Materials engineering and evaluations

Qualifications

Minimum of five years working with in civil/structures
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil, Metallurgical or Mechanical preferred)
Professional Engineering license preferred
Knowledge of AISC, ACI, ASME B&PV, AWS and related codes; building and fire codes
Knowledge and experience using finite element codes (SAP, ANSYS, STRUDL, ROHR, etc.)
Experience using measurement devices
Strong written and verbal communications skills, with ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to pass background and drug screenings to obtain security clearances at commercial nuclear plants and Dept. of Energy facilities (U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required for clearances).
Ability to travel to customer or project sites (moderate travel required)
