Insight Global is in search of a Registered Nurse in the Portsmouth, VA area to support a government client on a long term contract.

The ideal candidate would be responsible for ensuring patient care aligns with the Standards of Nursing Care and adheres to clinic policies and procedures.

You will perform triage, assess patients, and monitor their status. Utilizing patient monitoring and treatment equipment, you provide appropriate nursing care, execute physicians' orders, and document patient care meticulously. Additionally, you offer patient education and emotional support. Your role extends to creating a safe environment, identifying learning needs, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Demonstrating sound decision-making skills, you address deficiencies and maintain accurate records. Competency in medication administration, phlebotomy, and effective communication further enhances your contributions. You also participate in training initiatives and contribute to clinic procedures. If needed, you perform phone triage to ensure timely access to ambulatory or emergency care for beneficiaries.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of experience within the last two years as an RN in a hospital-based surgical outpatient clinic/hospital setting
• RN license
