    Full TimeLocation: PittsburghDescriptionAt FS-Elliott our Control Engineers utilize a wide range of control system design knowledge to review and implement specifications to integrate, test and evaluate electrical equipment to achieve customer requirements for Plant Air Compressor Packages.

    Key ResponsibilitiesExecutes controls engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, computer programs and criteria, which may involve independent action and decision.

    Provide technical support to production and field service to assist in resolving technical matters.

    Train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniquesCollaborates with other departments to insure prompt and effective problem-solving of reported problems.

    Develops and conducts assigned field & shop performance tests.
    Prepares and reviews assigned write-ups for technical manuals.
    Documents design modifications, reviews and approves detailed P&ID, electrical component and schematic drawings.
    Prepares Bulletins or Technical Memorandums on assigned subjects.
    Assists Controls Engineering Manager/Senior Controls engineer in meeting group objectives and new product design.
    Mentors Drafters Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

    Skills, Knowledge and ExperienceKnowledge of key mechanical components, instrumentation and electrical components in the rotary and reciprocating industriesKnowledge of the function and responses of key mechanical and electrical components to properly sustain operation of the compressor under multiple defined conditions and specifications.

    Capable of applying compressor system operational knowledge to define and program the control system logic to sustain operation of the compressor under a multiple defined conditions and specifications.

    Capable of designing and implementing processesDocumentation and configuration control systems experienceDemonstrated experience working across multiple teams through collaboration and communication; interpersonal savvyFirm commitment to excellence and high standardsExcellent verbal and written communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectivelyExcellent problem solving, process analysis, and improving business practice skills Outstanding time-management skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while meeting deadlinesGood judgement skills with the ability to make timely and sound decisionsExcellent problem resolution and consultative skillsHigh level of analytical ability Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to prioritize duties and responsibilitiesSelf-motivated, resourceful and adaptable; able to work independently within team focused environmentVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
