- Mows roadsides and open areas.
- Provides general clean-up and maintenance of mowing equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance and operation of equipment.
- Helps ensure that all equipment is properly maintained. Performs miscellaneous minor maintenance work on vehicles and equipment.
- May perform equipment maintenance/fabrication.
- Establishes and maintains positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of duties. May have contact with the public and must represent Douglas County with professionalism.
- Responsible for safety in work environment and responsible for safe use of equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience in mowing or related work preferred.
- Some knowledge of equipment maintenance, and safety factors is required.
- Skill in the use of tractors and equipment involved in farming/ranching and construction.
- Some knowledge of equipment maintenance.

This is work performing routine and semi-skilled duties in mowing with agriculture type equipment, and equipment maintenance.
As a temporary position, no benefits are available.

Physical Work Environment:
Exposure to weather, noise, vibration, confined/restricted working environment, and platform for movement. Mowing can be performed in heavy-traffic areas, roadsides, over rough terrain, including steep inclines.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently. Climbing, balancing, stooping, standing, walking, walking on uneven terrain, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, and feeling.
Equipment Used:
Mowers, county vehicles, and tools related to completion of work. May use hand tools, power tools, or other equipment.
