The PositionThe purpose of this classification is to operate equipment and perform manual work functions associated with various Utility projects.
Duties
Operates equipment and performs manual work associated with various functions of the City Utility Department,to include sewer construction and maintenance road construction and maintenance right-of-way maintenance litter controland other projectsas assigned.
Transports loads and unloads various equipmentand materials.
Performs manual work functions associatedwith constructionand maintenanceprojects which may include laying pipescutting pipes repairing sewer mainspipes cuttingrepairing sewer taps buildingrepairing manholes buildingrepairing catch basins clearing sewagestorm lines repairing roadwaysdriveways patching holes rollingpacking pavement cutting asphalt setting grades setting sidewalk forms pouring concrete finishing concrete laying bricks cleaning streets cutting tree limbs loading limbs into chipper digging holes trenches liftingmoving heavy materials shoveling materials picking up debris litter flagging traffic etc.
