    School Psychologist

    Location: Hartford, CT

    Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team at [School Name/District] in Hartford, CT. As a School Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to assess students' needs, develop intervention plans, and provide counseling and support services to promote their overall well-being and academic success.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional functioning.
    • Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations to educators and parents to support students' learning and development.
    • Collaborate with educators and parents to develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address students' academic and behavioral needs.
    • Provide counseling and support services to students individually and in groups to address social-emotional issues, improve behavior, and enhance coping skills.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including eligibility determination meetings and individualized education program (IEP) meetings, to review assessment results, discuss student needs, and develop intervention plans.
    • Consult with teachers and other school staff to provide strategies and accommodations to support students with diverse learning needs in the classroom.
    • Monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions through progress monitoring and outcome assessments.
    • Provide crisis intervention and support services to students and families during times of crisis or emergency.
    • Stay current on best practices in school psychology and participate in professional development activities to enhance your knowledge and skills.

    Educational Requirements:

    • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.

    Certifications:

    • Connecticut certification as a School Psychologist or eligibility for certification.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working as a School Psychologist in a school setting, preferably in an urban environment.
    • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and assessment tools for students with diverse learning needs.
    • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to interpret assessment results and make recommendations for intervention.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to support the academic and social-emotional needs of students.
