    Job Description:
    ECS seeks a Systems Architect to support VA's Cloud Infrastructure efforts. This role will lead small teams for assigned projects and collaborate with government customers and vendors.

    They will apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments, which are broad, requiring originality, creativity, and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks and will use in-depth knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments, evaluate performance results and recommend changes as necessary to achieve project success.

    This role leads the high-level and detailed architecture of complex systems related to various business areas.

    Overall responsibilities will include design and documentation of systems architecture, design, cost estimates, and planning skills required to lead the activities for cloud migrations and cloud shared services expansions/enhancements in cloud production environments.


    Overall Role Responsibilities:
    Lead assigned architecture and technical activities to meet customer requirements.
    Oversee and plan activities to create and maintain project deliverables for cloud program initiatives and assigned individual application migrations, all with a focus on delivering high customer satisfaction and business value

    Facilitate and lead teams in determining architecture goals, cost-estimating solutions, and reviewing existing cloud deployments for potential improvements to design, availability, recoverability and cost management.

    Serve as the primary customer technical contact for assigned projects
    Serve as a mentor to inspire and guide less experienced team members in support of the customer mission
    Lead assigned process reviews and updates as part of the program's ongoing continuous improvement process

    Required Skills:
    Possesses mature leadership skills
    Deep experience with containerization technology, specifically Redhat Openshift, EKS, and AKS

    Must have a strong understanding of Azure and AWS Well-Architected Frameworks in cloud production environments and understand how to use that knowledge to guide migration teams moving to the cloud.

    Must possess multiple certifications in AWS and Azure cloud environments with a strong preference toward AWS Professional certifications and

    Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent.
    At least eight (6) years of specialized experience in cloud architecture planning, estimating, application migration, and cloud governance
    Proven skills in Cloud-native development
    A dynamic personality that highlights leadership and flexibility to adjust when faced with challenges or adversity
    Able to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment
    Excellent written and oral communications skills as well as strong customer focus and presence
    Knowledge of Agile practices and governance
    Ability to obtain Public Trust background investigation

    Desired Skills:
    Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    Healthcare experience a plus
