3D Landscape Design & Estimating Apprentice

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a 3D Landscape Design & Estimating Apprentice.

Job Description: We are looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of 3D Landscape Design & Estimating Apprentice. In this position, you will work closely with our design and estimating teams to create accurate 3D renderings and assist in project cost estimation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for design and construction to gain valuable experience in the landscape industry.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with senior designers and project managers to develop 3D landscape renderings using industry-standard software
2. Assist in creating detailed landscape plans, including planting layouts, hardscape elements, and lighting designs.
3. Utilize 3D modeling software to visualize design concepts and present them to clients.
4. Work closely with the estimating team to quantify materials, labor, and equipment costs for landscape projects.
5. Assist in preparing project proposals, including compiling cost estimates, material lists, and project timelines.
6. Participate in client meetings to discuss design concepts, project requirements, and budget considerations.
7. Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project feasibility.
8. Support project managers in coordinating with subcontractors and vendors to obtain pricing and schedule deliveries.
9. Learn and apply principles of sustainable design and construction practices in landscape projects.
10. Assist in other administrative tasks and duties as needed to support the design and estimating teams.

Requirements:

1. A strong interest in landscape design, construction, and estimating.
2. Pursuing or recently completed a degree in landscape architecture, landscape design, architecture, or a related field.
3. Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software.
4. Basic knowledge of landscape design principles and construction methods.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
6. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
9. Valid driver's license

Compensation:

• Compensation for this position is $18-$25 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Our History:

Weaver's Landscape Company was founded in 1998 under the name "The Lawn Guys." It was started as a part time dream by two young men, Jeremy Becker and Burnell Weaver and consisted of mowing our church lawn as well as a few other mowing jobs picked up via newspaper advertising. As the next few years went by, more customers were added to the growing list of mowing jobs, as well as nominal maintenance projects such as weeding and mulching, and basic landscape planting jobs. In the third year of the business, Jeremy took up other interests and the business was bought by Burnell's dad (who also has an excavating business). Burnell started running the business with the help of a part time employee. The business was renamed "Weaver's Lawn Care."

In 2002, Burnell took over the business from his dad, which had grown to a company with an established list of customers and a few employees. The list of services had grown to include Hardscaping (Patios & Retaining Walls), Water Gardens, Tree and Shrub Planting, as well as a full mowing service. In 2008, the business name was transitioned to "Weaver's Landscape Company", which reflects the nature of the business in a truer sense. Today, Weavers Landscape Company is still a small company that offers a comprehensive approach to all your Outdoor Living needs and dreams. We maintain a staff of 10-20, with crews doing Hardscape/Construction Design/Build, and others doing Landscape Design/Build as well as Landscape Maintenance. As a Company, we have always placed high priority on Biblical Principles, and feel the Bible is the only Book that one can follow without regards. Not only does the Bible give simple and applicable direction for everyday living, most importantly, it tells the story of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Our goal is to be of service to man, live and tell the Story, and finally, win the Reward of Eternal Rest in Heaven.
