- Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
- Interrogates, interprets, and programs patients with cardiac electronic implantable devices in the Outpatient setting.
- Enrolls patients in the appropriate transtelephonic system by gathering and updating information from patient medical records, and educating patients on the use of the system to ensure accurate and timely participation in the
- Performs and documents clinical analysis of device interrogations received through the transtelephonic systems by following established standards of care to provide optimal clinical treatment to patients.
- Triages the patients for remote alert notifications
- Coordinates In-person EP Device Clinic with All satellite Cardiology Clinics and schedules.
- Notifies the appropriate care management team member of potential device/patient concerns in an acceptable time frame.
- Collaborates with appropriate Cardiology team members and acts as an EP liaison to consulting Electrophysiology practices.
- Identifies and provides teaching regarding CIEDs.
- Able to assess device pockets and signs of infection.
- Maintains a regulatory/compliance environment by following organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance to state, local, and federal
- Performs and reports pacemaker and ICD and Loop recorder device interrogation and analysis with reprogramming as needed to provide optimal clinical treatment to patients. Maintains expertise as new technology becomes available, including the use of new programmers and the programming of new devices.
- Works in conjunction with device manufacturing representatives to alert physicians and patients of potential device alerts or recalls.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing required
- BSN preferred
- BLS
- ACLS
- At least 3 years of EP Experience interrogating, interpreting and programming CIEDs.
- Strong EKG/arrhythmia interpretation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication, database management, and problem-solving skills are required
