Wireless Engineer - Washington - Akkodis

Description

Akkodis is seeking a Wireless Engineer for our client based at Lancaster SC.

Pay Range:$50-$60/hr on w2 without benefits . The pay may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mandatory Skills:

Strong knowledge of radio frequency (RF) theory, wave propagation, and antenna fundamentals.

Ability to identify, resolve, and control RF interference (co-channel and external sources).

Experience performing active/passive site surveys and applying findings to design and optimize wireless networks.

Proficient in propagation analysis software, spectrum analyzers, and 802.11 analyzers.

Extensive experience designing and supporting Cisco wireless environments, including:

• Cisco 5500 series Wireless Controllers
• Cisco 1550 & 3600 Access Points (lightweight & autonomous)
• Anchor controllers, FlexConnect APs, WLAN creation, wireless security & authentication
• Cisco Prime, WCS, and Mobility Services Engine (MSE)

Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals: switches, routers, trunks, port aggregation, subnets, protocols, and standards.

Thorough understanding of 802.1X / 802.11i, PEAP, RADIUS, firewall applications, and wireless security.

Ability to detect rogue APs and wireless attacks using appropriate tools.

Experience creating custom lab environments and test WLANs for device validation.

Skilled in performance analysis using Prime/WCS monitoring tools, throughput tools, spectrum analyzers, and data collection utilities.

Proficient in Cisco debug commands and wireless client troubleshooting tools.

10+ years of wireless design experience, including 5+ years designing 802.11 networks.

Recent experience designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco-based wireless systems, preferably for transit industry customers.
