    Description

    Summary



    Performs anesthetic management of patients with ASA physical classification 1-5; all phases of general anesthesia, inhalation and intravenous, for both elective and emergency surgery; spinal and other regional anesthesia as assigned and where directly supervised by the anesthesiologist.

    Performs anesthesia for all adult patients as presented with exceptional care as indicated for patients who are in the elderly age group (usually, though not limited to those 60+ years of age).

    Duties


    Duties include but not limited to: Performs cardio-pulmonary resuscitation; respiratory support as needed, including interpretation of pulmonary function and blood gas testing; emergency laryngoscopy and bronchoscopy; hypotensive anesthesia; management of local cases with or without IV sedation (monitored anesthesia care).

    Pre-operative evaluation of patients; recovery of patients from anesthesia; charting and documentation of anesthetics, drugs and the course of anesthesia; management of narcotics and other controlled substances; documentation for quality improvement; participation in hospital in-service training programs; timely participation in continuing education programs to maintain current licensing and certification and other duties related to anesthesia care as assigned.

    Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
