    Description

    Scope of Position

    The tasks at Atlantic Shores' Engineering Team need detail-oriented individuals with diverse skills, including in-depth technical knowledge, flexibility, enthusiasm for tasks, and problem-solving capabilities. As an Engineering Intern, you'll work in a diverse team and play a vital role in supporting project design, optimization, decision-making, implementation within schedule and budget, and reporting activities. This hybrid role is based in Brooklyn, NY, requiring at least 3 days a week onsite.

    Responsibilities

    This role will enable an intern to work on various engineering tasks supporting the Atlantic Shores' offshore wind portfolio. You will utilize judgment in performing duties as assigned by your supervisor.

    Typical Activities of the Engineering Intern:

    • Support engineering work related to specific packages such as foundations, wind turbines, and electrical substations
    • Assist in permitting efforts by providing inputs to the team
    • Offer design guidance and verify technical aspects
    • Participate in the development of scopes of work and contractor selection
    • Interface with different teams for necessary communication
    • Engage in data-driven decision-making activities

    Working Conditions:

    The majority of time will be in an office environment, using computers and office equipment. Some local travel may be required.

    Qualifications

    Currently enrolled in a four-year Engineering program at an accredited college, with at least one year completed. Must be willing to travel to project sites and work in the US without visa sponsorship. Drug screening and background check required.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to work in an office setting daily with occasional local travel.
