- This position is responsible for the assembly of low and medium voltage electrical switchgear cabinets for the manufacture of products.
- Assemblers will be responsible for taking a blueprint or work order, gathering appropriate materials and hardware, using hand and power tools to follow the work instructions and perform a basic inspection to ensure the product is manufactured with quality.
- Interpret assembly and elevation drawings
- Construct modular steel cabinets and copper buss assemblies
- Read tape measure
- Experience using manual hand tools (wrench, screwdriver, pliers)
- Experience with power tools (drill, impact, pneumatic torque wrench)
- Reliable transportation – not accessible by bus line
- At least 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Machine Builder or even Automotive Mechanic working in a more job shop environment and not on an assembly line
- Must have knowledge of electrical symbols and schematics
- Must be able to use shop equipment and hand tools
- Perform basic math functions including an understanding of fractions and decimals
- Must be comfortable standing throughout the shift
- Must be able to read, write and converse fluently in English with the level of competency that will permit the applicant to function in the position
