    Locum need for Board Certified Emergency Medicine provider in Polacca, AZ (Open to ANY state license)

    Board Certified Emergency Medicine physicians

    to provide emergency medicine care at a comprehensive Indian Health Service facilities in the Southwest. This facility is in Polacca AZ in a rural, tribal community in Northeastern Arizona. The facility has about 13,500 annual patient visits and offers 24 hours of physician coverage.
    Requirements
    ABEM certified
    ATLS, ACLS, BLS, PALS
    Active, unrestricted license and DEA from ANY state or US territory
    Not had a lapse in practice > 6 months leading up to assignment
    Annual Covid and Flu vaccination or exemption
    About the location
    Approximately 13500 annual patient visits from Hopi and Navajo tribes

    Strong Navajo and Hopi cultural traditions exist within the communities, offering an opportunity to learn the Navajo and Hopi languages, or to learn about traditional Native American medicine.

    The service units are located near the Grand Canyon National Park, with excellent opportunities for photography and outdoor recreation.

    Flagstaff Pullam Regional (2 hour drive), Albuquerque International Airport (4 hour drive)
    Practice Description
    Typical number of patients per day : 20-30/day,10-20/night

    EMR:

    RPMS
    Schedule : 12-hour shifts, 7a-7p/7p-7a

    Solo coverage

    - no APP back up
    7 bed ED

    Imaging :
    Sonosite in ED, imaging read off-site, CT, MRI and Ultrasound available limited hours

    Trauma patients:
    Major trauma, acute surgical emergencies and high-risk obstetric patients are transported to Flagstaff Medical Center

    The emergency room operates like a free-standing ER 24-hours a day and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) responders are always available with specialty services
