    Job Summary:

    A buyer is responsible for coordinating the purchasing, expediting, and delivery of goods for our clients in a proactive, thorough manner. The type of goods procured varies from one industry to another with the underlying duty to meet the objectives and goals of our clients. Focus will be placed on managing a large portfolio of purchases in an organized and controlled approach, enabling efficiency and quality in the supply chain. In all cases the role will strive to develop or enhance work practices that are consistent and valued by clients.

    Responsibilities:
    • Develop and maintain material purchasing lists for individual or a portfolio of projects, including long lead identification and tracking.
    • Obtain quotes from suppliers and provide proper challenge.
    • Create thorough and clear purchase orders.
    • Proactively expedite equipment and materials to enable high quality and on-time delivery.
    • Ensure effective intervention and escalation to mitigate supplier performance issues.
    • Facilitate technical documents and drawing approvals between the supplier and internal technical stakeholders.
    • Coordinate shop inspections amongst applicable parties.
    • Develop and distribute procurement status reports to team members.
    • Professionally integrate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure all procurement activity is performed in an ethical manner.
    • Perform all procurement activity in alignment with internal procedures and client standards.
    • Enhance ways of working and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
    Success Measurements:
    • Client objectives and goals are met.
    • Projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within controlled budgets.
    • Materials are received on-time and with no defects.
    • Supplier performance issues are effectively mitigated to minimize project disruption.
    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED (higher education preferred)
    • A minimum of 2 years procurement or business experience.
    • Experience working in teams with multiple stakeholders.
    • Instilled with a proactive, self-motivated mindset.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Demonstrates inquisitiveness and problem-solving skills.
    • Adept with using technologies to manage procurement functions, including MS Excel.
    • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to influence others and effectively address conflict.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and rapport building.
