    Description

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for development, editing and submission of competitive grants, proposals and reports for identified specific funding resources to support site and system initiatives. Ensures all proposals and reports meet funder guidelines and deadlines.
    • Works system-wide to collaborate with leadership and staff to identify and understand program/project concepts and objectives that are proposed for funding. Works with Grants Team and leadership to conduct program audit and gap analysis to determine a program's readiness for specific extramural funding opportunities. Convenes teams and supports program development efforts when needed to define scope of work and align objectives, evaluation plan and budget with funder guidelines.
    • Identifies, investigates, and defines grant funding opportunities for programs/projects throughout the system that align with Advocate Aurora Health's priorities, mission and values. Proactively works to identify and cultivate new funding opportunities from local, regional, and national foundations, corporate foundations, organizations and government agencies.
    • Supports development and stewardship of key funder relationships. Maintains regular contact with program staff, financial staff, and other key stakeholders to help monitor progress and support the execution of high-quality deliverables. Manages stewardship activities, including detailed funder reports, personal acknowledgment letters and site visits.
    • Manages internal processes related to grants, including managing calendar of deadlines, supervising proposal development and reporting timelines, and managing funder deliverables and facilitates the expenditure tracking process.
    • Works collaboratively with leadership to support development and submission of large and complex funding opportunities.
    • Preference given to candidate with experience and relationships with funders in the Midwest region.

    Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

    • None Required.

    Education Required:

    • Bachelor's Degree.

    Experience Required:

    • Typically requires at least three years of solid experience in a health system, public health or social services. Must have solid grant-writing experience and proven track record of positive results.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

    • Strong writing skills.
    • Must have ability to handle multiple projects and requests simultaneously in a fast paced, deadline-driven, results-oriented environment.
    • Strong ability to work both independently and as a team to communicate with a wide range of internal and external constituents including program staff, financial staff, system leaders and funders.
    • Ability to identify priorities, analyze issues, manage projects and make decisions expeditiously while maintaining close attention to detail, most especially to foundation specifications, expectations and deadlines.
    • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize large amounts of detailed information and to focus quickly on the essence of an issue.
    • Strong commitment to producing measurable results.
    • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills.

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

    • Position may require travel which may result in exposure to road and weather hazards.
    • Exposed to a normal office environment.
    • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
