- Develop and manage budgets for grant proposals
- Ensure compliance with grant regulations, including allowable expenses, reporting requirements, and audit standards.
- Monitor grant expenditures and cash flow to ensure funds are used efficiently and in accordance with grant guidelines.
- Assist in preparing for and participating in grant audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Coordinate the closeout process for grants, including final financial reports, reconciliations, and returning any unspent funds as required.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for all grant-related transactions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
- Experience in grant accounting or financial management, preferably in a nonprofit or government organization.
- Strong knowledge of grant regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and private grant funding sources and requirements is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills are required.

Job DescriptionLHH is partnering with a growing non-profit organization on this exiting opportunity to come onboard as a temp to hire Grant Accountant. The position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule in their Midtown Manhattan offices. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of a portfolio of grants received by the organization. This includes budgeting, financial reporting, compliance with grant regulations, and ensuring that funds are used appropriately according to grant guidelines. You will work closely with program managers, finance teams, and grantors to ensure accurate financial management and reporting.
