    The Associate Director of Gov't Affairs and Strategy will be a member of the US Federal Government Affairs and Strategy team.

    This role supports the Senior Director of Federal Government Affairs and plays a key role for the Government Affairs function.

    Core responsibilities include lobbying at the Federal & State level, procuring Industrial Based Expansion (IBX) bids and projects and contribute to the analysis development, and execution of a comprehensive engagement strategy focusing on federal government stakeholders and commercial partners.

    This role will work collaboratively with members of the site leadership team to help implement coordinated federal government strategies with that impact JHS's business and patient needs.

    Essential responsibilities include

    :

    Responsible for the negotiations and administration of JHS's U.S.

    Government contracts and subcontracts, including guiding the team as we deliver capabilities and products to our Government partners and rapidly expand our Government portfolio of projects.

    Analyzes USG requirements, with understanding of the market and JHS capabilities to proactively identify potential opportunities with gov't and end to end solutions via partnerships.

    Supports proposal preparation (RFP review, analysis, interpretation and contractual advice on terms and conditions) and developing the cost and price proposals and pricing strategies required during negotiations;

    Assist in the development, and participate in the execution, of gov't engagement strategies; ability to work effectively in a team and cross-functionally with multiple internal departments.

    Drive federal strategy development while understanding the company's business goals and priorities; and work closely with colleagues throughout corporate affairs to advance shared goals.

    Engage and demonstrate leadership with trade associations and/or coalitions in which JHS participates; maintain strong working relationships with key influencers.

    Drive JHS's mission and strategy, and uniquely positioned to create impact both for our U.S. Government partners and for JHS at large.

    Directly lobby at the Federal Congressional level meeting with both Senators & US House of Representative members to procure and lobby business for JHS.

    Including shaping federal policy issues, interacting with subject matter experts across various USG teams.
    Drive creative, critical thinking and action throughout the full acquisition lifecycle, and help establish new internal acquisition policies and procedures to facilitate streamlining the contract negotiation and administration process and efficient development of cost/price proposals for the Government;
    Provide expertise in identifying creative solutions to potential contractual problems or conflicts, analyzing impact/ramifications; recommends and implements mitigation strategies
    Qualifications

    :

    Bachelor's degree required; higher education preferred.
    15-20 years of relevant work experience in government and / or biotech.
    10+ years in Account Based selling or interacting with multi-national company/strategic projects.

    Experience working with and managing high level executives –ability to manage and prioritize multiple issues and tasks, and the ability to work on complex projects with tight deadlines.

    Strong preference is for a government affairs leader with experience at a major company or association, a long-term Congressional staffer, or a public servant in a relevant government department or agency.

    The annual salary range for this position is $115,500 - $181,500 depending on experience.
