    The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is seeking an Executive Assistant to support the Chief Executive Officer. NAEYC is a professional membership organization with 80+ employees across the United States; maintains an innovative environment deeply focused on vision, mission, values and beliefs; and works to promote high-quality early learning for each and every child, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. NAEYC advances a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and supports all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Executive Assistant plays a critical role in serving as a representative for NAEYC and on behalf of the CEO with a particular focus on scheduling, communication, meeting preparations, and project-based work.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide expert proactive administrative management support to the CEO
    • Manage the CEO's calendar with internal and external stakeholders
    • Arrange complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas
    • Prepare background materials as needed on meeting purpose and attendees; provide meeting agendas
    • Arrange for successful execution of on-site meetings, including agendas, materials, refreshments/meals, support for visitors
    • Support management of the Executive Office budget and expense processing and reporting according to policy
    • Execute and manage a variety of special projects while setting up timelines, expectations and completion
    • Create and prepare meeting or speech presentation materials including slides or reference materials

    Education and Experience

    • Associate's degree or equivalent Additional related coursework, Bachelor's degree a plus
    • 8-10 years of related experience, supporting executives with increasing responsibilities, and supporting Board of Directors activities

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Proven experience successfully handling confidential information as a trusted assistant supporting executive leaders
    • Demonstrated expertise using MS365 including SharePoint, databases, and meetings software
    • Demonstrated expertise using virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft teams.
    • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail with urgency and timeliness.

    Position Designation(s): Business Operations and Required Travel. This role will need to maintain a regular physical presence in NAEYC's office and there for is eligible for telework and not eligible to be fully remote.

    The Executive Assistant will be required to regularly report on-site to support the CEO at the NAEYC office on days the CEO is in-office.
