    THE OPPORTUNITY

    Silvus is seeking a full-time Senior PCB Design Engineer reporting to the Principal Product Design Engineer on the Product Engineering team. The successful individual in this role will participate in the development of Silvus' MANET radios and other advanced R&D projects with an emphasis on Electronics Hardware/PCBA design. This position is on a hybrid schedule, a minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected. On-site days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The location for this role is Silvus' HQ in the heart of West Los Angeles, CA.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design and develop complete circuit boards that integrate mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
    • Perform electronic hardware development tasks such as functional decomposition of requirements, creation of architectural block diagram, component selection, detail circuit design, and worst-case circuit analysis, test case and test procedure development, and formal circuit performance verification to ensure compliance to all performance and environmental requirements.
    • Perform schematic capture and analysis of electronic circuits.
    • Perform PCB layout design independently and/or support PCB layout engineer to complete layout.
    • Perform design verification and validations according to the defined design inputs and product specifications.
    • Develop requirement specifications for printed wiring assemblies and electronic components.
    • Perform failure analysis, root cause determination, and corrective action implementation.
    • Write reports, specifications, correspondence, and procedures.
    • Ensure products comply with and are certified to applicable specifications and regulatory standards.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor of Science required, preferably in Electrical Engineering
    • Minimum 3 years of experience with electronics hardware design.
    • Deep understanding and knowledge of electronics hardware design and experience with microprocessors or FPGAs, standard based IOs (Ethernet, USB, I2C, SPI, etc.), DC power systems.
    • Ability to conduct schematic captures and PCB layout.
    • Proficient in one of the leading PCB Design tools.
    • Familiar with the PCB manufacturing process and Design for Manufacturing.
    • Experience using lab equipment such as digital multimeters, DC Power Supply, oscilloscopes.

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Circuit simulation skills.
    • Experience with Altium.
    • Experience with RF circuit design and measurement.
    • Experience with AMD UltraScale+ MPSoC and/or Microchip Polarfire SoC design.
    • Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
    • Problem-solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
