    Description
    Job Summary

    Accountable for providing quality ultrasound scans for the Cardiologists in the diagnosis of cardiac patients.

    Responsibilities


    • Provide quality ultrasound images for use by the Cardiologist in the diagnosis and management of cardiac patients.
    • Provide assistance in the performance of Cardiac Monitor scanning.
    • Provide assistance in the performance of stress testing.
    • Maintain records of patient exams with their diagnosis. Ability to identify abnormalities and take appropriate action.
    • Schedule patients when necessary.
    • Provide assistance to Physicians and patients during stress/Echocardiograms and/or obtain adequate ultrasound images.
    • Prepare patients and provide quality signals for TCD examinations and assist nursing personnel/physician.
    • Following aseptic technique, gain intravenous access as needed for UEA and or bubble studies as ordered by physician
    • Following aseptic technique administer UEA as ordered by the physician
    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


    Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages.

    Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

    Competency StatementMust demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist.

    Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization.8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable.9. Perform related duties as assigned.

    Education


    • Associate's Degree
    • Formalized Training (Required)

    Substitution:
    Equivalent work experience may substitute for formalized training.

    Credentials


    • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (Required) RCS OR RDCSRCS OR RDCS
    • Basic Life Support (Required) Within 30 days of hireWithin 30 days of hire
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (Required) Or RCSOr RCS
    Work Schedule: Evenings

    Status: Full Time Regular
