- Produces high-quality work product reflecting accuracy and thoroughness through both the preparation and review of matters of all tax types, including:
- Ensures adherence to standardized processes and controls, including those designed to maintain SOX compliance, and actively works towards continuous improvement thereof
- Reevaluates processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and appropriate level of documentation, including through proficiently leveraging technology tools
- Works directly with accounting/finance and regulatory-affairs teams, outside advisors, and external financial-statement auditors
- Timely identifies and applies new tax laws, and performs/reviews tax research in support of compliance and planning
- Prepares/reviews tax-related correspondence
- Provides work product in a timely manner supported by well-organized documentation adhering to Tax Department policies
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting or related discipline; Masters degree in Tax preferred
- Six years of experience performing complex corporate tax and accounting work, including demonstrating strong ASC 740 tax accounting skills
- Rate-regulated utility experience preferred
- Knowledge of business tax compliance, including strong background in federal and multi-state corporate income tax compliance (including consolidation/combination)
- Proficiency with (i) Microsoft applications, including advanced Excel skills, (ii) income-tax-return-preparation applications, and (iii) tax research applications
- Proficiency with tax modules in the PowerPlan suite of applications preferred
- Proficiency with One Source Income Tax RS preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

POSITION DEFINITION
The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for the Companys income and non-income tax accounting, reporting and filing obligations (i.e., income tax provisions, filings to taxing authorities, and tax aspects of regulatory filings [e.g., SEC, FERC]), including those of greater complexity, and reviewing work product of other staff. The Senior Tax Accountant collaborates with the Accounting & Finance team and Regulatory Affairs Department in support of the tax function.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
The responsibilities of this position will involve access to information that may be considered confidential, private and sensitive. Therefore, the individual filling this position will be required to both allow and pass a background check.
