- Provide support to trainer(s), Workforce Development Program Manager and Operations Leads.
- Facilitate logistics instruction, coaching, and mentoring for training participants.
- Assist with developing training manuals, guides and course materials.
- Onboard trainees and ensure trainees understand all warehouse operations policies, procedures and safety regulations.
- Co-facilitate program using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, videos and on the job training sessions.
- Work with Operations Leads to provide participant work experience and support.
- Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests, assessments, and retraining requirements.
- Track, evaluate, and report participant progress against learning objectives.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
- Take on a SME (Subject Matter Expert) role by following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to process orders including accurately picking, performing quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, building and wrapping pallets, packing, loading and preparing orders for shipment.
- Maintain appropriate licenses, training and certifications.
- Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution center, supply-chain management, operations type environment.
- Exemplary relationship-building and communication skills: written, oral and interpersonal.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, demonstrate strong organizational skills, take initiative and be self-motivated.
- Training background a plus
- Ability to operate and/or willingness to learn material handling equipment (order pickers, reach trucks, forklifts)
- Ability to work standing for long periods of time with frequent stooping or bending
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to be detail oriented, quality focused and self-motivated
- Ability to work in coordination with other team members to accomplish goals
- Experience with continuous improvement activities related to warehouse optimization.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug testing
- Must have driver's license and clean MVR
- Current forklift certification, or ability to acquire upon employment.
- Current SERV Safe Food Protection Manager license, or ability to acquire upon employment.
- Ability to work evenings & Saturdays as needed
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Supply-Chain Management or Training-related field.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution center, operations type environment
- 2+ years of experience in Training & Development field, facilitating programs to individuals with diverse abilities and backgrounds.

El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is the only food bank serving the greater El Paso region, three Counties (El Paso, Hudspeth, Culberson) and covering nearly 10,000 square miles along the borderland. We accomplish our mission of feeding neighbors experiencing food insecurity and hunger through strategic food distribution partnerships with over 100 pantry partners, and approximately 1,000 client choice mobile pantry distributions. El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is the second youngest food bank in the country and the sixth largest in terms of food distribution; the food bank itself, is the largest distribution of food in this region for those experiencing hunger. Position Summary
This position will support the delivery of all aspects of the warehouse and logistics training program. The Warehouse and Logistics training specialist will form part of a project team that will be responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing and sustaining the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Banks' Job Skills Training Programs. We are looking for someone dynamic and engaging, with excellent training, facilitation, coaching, and warehouse and logistics experience.
Position Requirements
Essential Job Functions
Include, but are not limited to the following:
This position operates in a typical warehouse environment and requires constant use of a computer and other office equipment, such as phones, calculators, computer printers and copy machines. The person in this position needs to move about safely in the warehouse and will move from warehouse to office environments frequently throughout the day.
The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external stakeholders (food bank leadership and staff, employment & community partners, students, etc.). Must be able to gather and exchange accurate information in these situations. This position requires local travel for meetings (reliable transportation is needed), or professional development opportunities. Infrequent national and/or overnight travel may be required for optional professional development opportunities. Occasional night or weekends may be required.
Position Type & Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). It is not eligible for overtime pay. Days and hours of work will vary Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position requires occasional evening and weekends.
