Summary:

The Software Engineer will be responsible for writing code, writing unit tests, and working collaboratively with Powin's Cloud and Data team.

The ideal candidate for this role is backend Java developer.

The role is hands on and assists with developing, refining, and advancing Powin's battery energy storage technology for use in the next generation of the grid.

Job Details:
Collaborate with team to develop new software for Powin's energy storage system.

Develops and implements backend Java applications to support business requirements as per specificationsPerform program coding and testing as part of a Scrum Team using Agile Software Development Lifecycle.

Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigationWork closely with other Software Engineers and Quality Assurance Engineers to meet deadlinesImplement features in Java, writes unit tests, and contributes actively to code reviewsWork with Powin's Data Analytics Team, Technical Product Management, Quality Assurance, and other software engineers to create and maintain cloud-based softwareParticipate in testing and troubleshooting tasks to help the team overcome challengesParticipate in Code Inspections and Agile ceremoniesReview, and at times, contribute to product requirements documents and specifications documentsContribute to investigation of production issues and assists in resolutionOther job duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience1 to 3 years of experience with Object Oriented Programming (proficiency in Java is a must)1 to 3 years of experience with SQL (PostGres preferred)1 to 2 years web development skills (HTML, CSS, Javascript)Detail oriented, with the ability to effectively handle multiple prioritiesExcellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across levels and functionsCreative problem-solving skillsProven ability to work in a fast-paced environmentProven ability to learn new frameworks, new environments, and new technologiesAbility to work flexible hours as needed to support international teamsProficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Limited travel requirementsExperience with AWS is a plusExperience with Python is a plusExperience in the energy industry is a plusPowin is not accepting resumes from unsolicited headhunters or agencies at this time
