    Operations Manager - Air and Ocean Freight Forwarding

    Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to oversee our air and ocean freight forwarding operations. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and international shipping regulations. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods through air and ocean transportation modes while maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. **Strategic Planning:** Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize air and ocean freight operations, streamline processes, and improve overall efficiency.

    2. **Team Management:** Lead and manage a team of operations staff, including supervisors, coordinators, and agents, to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

    3. **Vendor Management:** Establish and maintain strong relationships with airlines, shipping lines, customs brokers, and other vendors to negotiate favorable terms and ensure reliable service.

    4. **Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:** Stay up-to-date with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and trade compliance laws to ensure full adherence and minimize risk.

    5. **Customer Service:** Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

    6. **Process Improvement:** Continuously evaluate existing processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

    7. **Performance Monitoring:** Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.

    8. **Documentation and Record Keeping:** Ensure accurate and timely documentation of shipments, including bills of lading, customs documentation, and other required paperwork.

    9. **Budget Management:** Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to develop and manage budgets for operations, including expenses, revenue forecasts, and cost-saving initiatives.

    10. **Risk Management:** Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions to operations, such as weather-related delays, port strikes, or capacity constraints.

    **Requirements:**

    1. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree will be advantageous.

    2. Minimum of 4 years of experience in air and ocean freight forwarding operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

    3. Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance requirements.

    4. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.

    5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

    6. Proficiency in logistics software

    7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational excellence.

    8. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
