- Welcome Home to Baxter Health#s 31-bed Cardiac Step-Down Unit, we are a family of highly-skilled caregivers, who provide optimal care to a diverse patient population.# Our patient#s conditions range from low acuity to critically ill.# We work together to treat individuals with cardiac acuities such as arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, and myocardial infarction.# Our patient population also includes those with respiratory emergencies requiring Bi-PAP, aggressive pulmonary physiotherapy, and high-level monitoring.# In addition, we also interface with patients facing a multitude of acute and chronic disease processes.
