    We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Permit to Work Coordinator.

    General Description:


    The Permit to Work Coordinator reports to the Operations Superintendent & Shift Supervisors of Process & Power Island and is a focal point for all work activities involving permit coordination of the Venture Global Plaquemines liquefied natural gas facility.

    This is a safety sensitive position intended to provide employees a career path in developing a higher level of experience with internal company safety procedures and controls.

    This vital role is responsible for implementing the Permit to Work system to support operational safety and compliance policies, procedures, and forms.

    PTW Coordinator will provide guidance to operations, maintenance & contractor personnel on completion of appropriate permits to perform work.

    The incumbent will possess skills in completing Job Hazard Analysis, understand HAZOP's, Lock-Out-Tag-Out and all safety related policies and procedures.


    Responsibilities:

    • Must be familiar with all applicable policies and procedures associated with performing any work (crane lifting/rigging, mechanical isolation, inhibited isolations, JHA's i.e.).
    • Is responsible to verify certification of employees operating equipment and machinery. Performs onsite audits of work taking place to ensure compliance with PTW and all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations. Closes out permits and ensures appropriate document filing and retention controls are followed. Keeps all supervision advised of any safety, environmental, or other compliance issues.
    • Assist operations, maintenance & contractor personnel in identifying appropriate permits for their daily work. Must have a good understanding of P&ID's, PFDs, and plant operations to assist in identifying permits required. Ensure that the person in direct charge of a unit, plant or Installation is aware of all the work being performed. Provides for the suitable display of Permits and confirms appropriate.
    • Effectively communicates with Operations Day Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, DCS panel Operator and Area Authority all critical and potential impact to the facility or field operations to ensure work can proceed safely.
    • PTW Coordinators will participate in planning meetings for all major shutdown work. Provide feedback to plant supervision on improvement opportunities to the Permit to Work process and efficiently communicated with other PTW coordinators to ensure consistency with the PTW process.
    • Will work to Identify hazards and risks as applicable to related job site and work tasks and recommends mitigations to reduce residual hazards.
    • Is responsible to ensure there are adequate supplies of permits. Monitors and controls locks, keys, and associated devices for performing isolations (chains, tags etc.). Maintains appropriate level of training to administer PTW process. May be called on to perform PTW training.
    • Engage in all required procedures related to the PTW system operation and responsibilities
    • Ensure that all PTW system users have minimum required level of competency.
    • Help to plan and facilitate operational activities, such as routine, regulatory, and turnaround activities in the VG LNG facility which include utilities, pretreatment, liquefaction, storage & loading and Power Island.
    • Participate in Incident Command & Emergency Management drills & actuals.

    Qualifications:

    Education and Certifications:
    PTEC degree preferred or relevant process experience.


    • Experience:
    • Six (6) years' working experience in commissioning, startup & operations in oil & gas, or petrochemical facilities, of which at least three (3) years must be in coordinating shutdown/turnaround activities.
    • At least ten (10) years working experience in Operations with LNG or other cryogenic hydrocarbon liquids and associated systems is preferred; however petrochemical and refining operational experience may be considered acceptable.
    • Skills:
    • Moderate leadership and administrative abilities are required.
    • Must have strong operational knowledge of the facility and equipment and be able to relate with associated construction and maintenance activities taking place in the entire complex.
    • Must have the skills necessary to coordinate multiple activities and understand the impact they have with other areas of the operation. Complete understanding of regulatory agency and company requirements concerning first line break, hot work, cold work, confined space, LOTO, JSA, etc. which are critical safeguards in the facility for the health and safety of the personnel, care and control of equipment and protection of the environment.
    • Must be able to adapt to changing conditions and make decisions with minimal supervision.
    • Must Have good communication skills to interact with company and contract personnel and possess knowledge to clearly understand hazardous associated with work performed.
    • The incumbent needs to be positive, and open-minded person, able to interact with other disciplines, self-motivating and able to work in a prompt fashion.
    • He or she must be a good planner and organizer.
    • He/she must be very conscious of the Quality, Health, Safety Security and Environment issues in the facility by attending meetings and daily communication with plant supervision.
    • Computer knowledge including Apple Mac, Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Project & PowerPoint.
    • Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.

    Freedom to Act:

    • Permit to Work Coordinator will undergo initial training until he/she will have an understanding LNG liquefaction, storage and cargo loading operations and documentation.

    Work Conditions:

    • Job is performed in an industrial plant environment.
    • Limited travel and temporary assignment required as business conditions dictate.
    • Subject to drug & alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Venture Global LNG.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, smell, type and write.
    • Must be able to board a ship via a gangway, climb to the top of a tank (200+ steps), scale vertical steel ladder up to forty feet or more in height and lift and move objects weighting up to 30 pounds.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors & outdoors, and be exposed to year-around weather conditions, ocean environment, and noise. There is a considerable number of outdoor activities involved.
    • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Required to pass regularly scheduled physical examinations mandated by regulatory authorities.
    • Required to obtain mandated certification by attending Company-sponsored training in basic first aid, CPR, AED & LNG firefighting.
