    Position Description Summary:


    The department of Romance, German, and Slavic Languages and Literatures at The George Washington University invites applications for one full-time renewable, specialized non-tenure accruing appointment at the rank of Teaching Instructor of French language to begin as early as Fall 2024 with an initial three-year appointment.


    Specific Duties and Responsibilities:


    Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to, teaching seven (4/3) French language courses per year, as well as participation in the development, maintenance, and implementation of curriculum and assessment instruments.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Applicants must have at least an M.A. or Masters 2 degree in French (language, pedagogy (FLE), etc.) by the date of appointment.

    Experience teaching French Language courses at the college level, native or near-native fluency in French; demonstrated teaching excellence at different levels of French language, as evidenced by evaluations, teaching assessments, letters of recommendation, etc.
