    As such, we are seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level Software Design Engineer interested in supporting Human Factors research efforts in support of the Soldier Touchpoint Research Center.

    In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing software solutions that support the study and analysis of soldiers interacting with experimental and fielded weapon systems.

    You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of university researchers, engineers, and user-experience experts to enhance the usability, efficiency, and safety of cutting-edge technologies.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    Designing, developing, and maintaining applications and tools tailored for human factors researchCollaborating with engineers to interface with sensors that detect and record human factors dataDeveloping algorithms and tools for processing data and providing insight through compelling visual displaysUsability and user experience enhancementDocumenting all phases of the software development and research activitiesBenefits

    The I2 interview process involves a phone call to establish interest and fit.

    The next phase could be a follow-up phone call or virtual meeting with the hiring manager which will cover more technical topics.

    Finally, you'll be invited for an interview with I2 technical leadership. If all goes well, you will be extended an offer to become an official member of I2.

    Job Requirements


    Qualifications:


    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 5 years applicable software design engineering experience.

    Proven experience in software development, preferably in a research or experimental settingFamiliarity with human factors research principles and methodologiesProficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or JavaExperience with user interface design and developmentStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environmentExcellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
