The Radiology Department intends to hire for two position at either the Imaging Technologist classification or Senior Imaging Technologist based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Please indicate in your cover letter the position you wish to be considered for or indicate both.Selective candidates eligible for a sign-on bonus of $12,500 Moving allowance may be available Current UI employees are not eligible The University of Iowa Health Care department of Radiology is seeking a Senior Imaging Technologist with primary duties in Department of Radiography – IR Perform diagnostic imaging procedures utilizing advanced imaging technology/equipment explain examination procedures to patients and monitor their status and instruct students and staff on examination and equipment operations Duties Include Operate adjust and manipulate computerized electronic and mechanical components of computerized axial tomographic angiographic magnetic resonance systems and multiple modalities of other general diagnostic equipment Maintain operate trouble-shoot report equipment failures Instruct trainees students and staff on equipment operation safety precautions Explain examination process to patients Ensure patients welfare assist physician with medical procedures Perform patient care techniques including skin preparation I.V. placement vital sign monitoring recording basic life support prepare administer contrast material to patients Maintain records results examinations archive computer data Plan daily regular STAT scheduling efficient room utilization Participate on-call coverage Assist inventory ordering supplies maintaining quality assurance hospital departmental clinical unit standards Participate phantom human animal research Maintain knowledge technical developments software updates related subjects attending meetings continuing education programs professional organizations review journals publications Perform quality assurance procedure evaluate systems performance Instruct evaluate clinical abilities performance Radiology Technology sub-specialty students clinical rotation Maintain effective working relationships faculty staff students public
