    Description

    I am partnered with a very well-funded AI startup that's on a mission to make the development of AI products (LLMs) more reliable and safe. The platform enables researchers and developers to understand the tradeoffs they are making in training and deploying AI models and products.

    I'm looking for a Senior SRE / DevOps Engineer to build out the infrastructure for the world's first end-to-end AI evaluation platform.

    The team is based in Boston, Massachusetts, and preference will be given to candidates who can join them in our office 2 days per week. You will have great autonomy and full own the infrastructure.

    Day to Day Work:

    • Work alongside the engineering team and lead early product development, including designing and implementing scalable cloud-native infrastructure capable of ingesting masses of data from LLMs
    • Balance trade-offs for performance and usability for their initial customers. The goal is for the platform to be easy to use, and for customers to get results fast
    • Ship to learn: iterating, experimenting, and testing ideas to move along the path to product-market fit
    • Bootstrap the initial development tooling, infrastructure, and deployment processes
    • Collaborate with external researchers, design partners, and early customers (like GitHub)

    What You'll Bring:

    • 6+ years of FT industry experience building and operating production systems in a modern cloud / enterprise setting -
    • Expertise using tools like Python, terraform / pulumi, or kubernetes / AWS (ideally serverless with Lambda)
    • Strong security mindset - Security is built into your work
    • You're a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, startup environments, and open-ended technical challenges
    • You can balance building high quality, secure software with prioritizing company goals
    • Experience with different cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure

    Nice to have (but not required):

    • Experience with ML/AI systems, e.g. LLMs
    • Experience building user-facing data, ML, or analytics products
    • If you've worked at an early-stage startup, this will be advantageous

    On Offer:

    • Base salary from $175-220k
