    Applications Analyst





    DEPARTMENT:
    Territorial Information Technology


    STATUS: Exempt - Full Time





    PAY RANGE:
    $80,000-$90,000 annually


    LOCATION: Remote eligible

    MAJOR FUNCTION:

    Serve as lead applications analyst and the technology subject matter expert (SME) for key enterprise application suites.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Applications Analysis (60%)


    • Provide in-depth analysis of design, form, function, data structure, dataflow, reporting, etc. for various enterprise applications.
    • Write and maintain technical application documentation (diagrams, charts, narratives, tech reference guides, etc.).
    • Identify and document key elements of application and data integrations to both internal applications and third-party applications and services.
    • Review requests for new processes, features, and updates to existing applications.
    • Manage multiple application projects to successful and timely completion.
    • Prepare progress reports to inform management of application project status.
    • Assist the Director of Applications and others in the software review and selection process.
    • Assess applications for security and patch or mitigate as appropriate.
    • Assess interoperability with other applications to ensure stability and availability.
    Applications Technical Subject Matter Expert (30%)


    • Document how various software applications are implemented to meet determined business process and workflow needs.
    • Communicate system and application changes to stakeholders regarding functionality enhancements, software/hardware maintenance, upgrades, etc.
    • Plan and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for applications.
    • Assist with application implementation and rollouts.
    • Create reporting applications using Microsoft PowerBI tools as needed.
    • Serve as technical liaison to key departments and identified stakeholders at the territorial level.
    • Remain current with security policies and procedures and work with System Administrators to implement security changes.
    • Prepare and review operations documentation, training materials, and timelines.
    Builds & Maintains Business Relationships (10%)


    • Work with various SMEs, technical consultants, and vendors concerning application software issues.
    • Maintain healthy relationships with third-party vendors, suppliers, and application developers.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


    • Experience with data warehouse concepts and products.
    • Advanced understanding of application and database structures.
    • Complete understanding of data modeling and documentation.
    • Ability to diagram, graph, and model workflow processes.
    • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
    • Ability to use business intelligence reporting tools to help visualize and analyze raw data.

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:


    • Experience managing projects.
    • Two years of quantifiable experience in data analytics.
    • Two years of experience analyzing, testing, implementing, and maintaining application systems.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
