    Sr. Manager, Infrastructure Management

    V-Soft Consulting is currently seeking a Sr. Manager, Infrastructure Management for our premier client. This is a direct hire position. This is a mostly onsite role in the Chicago loop with hybrid flexibility. Expectation is 2-3x per week in the office.

    OVERVIEW:

    The Infrastructure Manager position is a key member who will be leading various infrastructure efforts, managing projects across members of various teams, and identifying, designing, and deploying new solutions. This is a highly focused role and requires someone with deep technical knowledge. The candidate will be expected to manage a team to contribute to the development and execution of the overall infrastructure plan that enables the most effective infrastructure technologies in compliance with established policies and procedures. The role analyzes issues and situations to manage the implementation of standards and best practices during the design and build phase of projects and initiatives. Also, the role applies innovation and problem-solving skills to identify and recommend improvements to infrastructure solutions.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

    • Have led diverse, high-performing teams: 6+ years of experience as an Infrastructure management lead.
    • Good understanding of server & operating systems, networks, firewalls and load balancers and proficiency in VMware, Active Directory.
    • You bring significant automation experience with you for minimizing manual processes along with ability to manage through organizational changes.
    • Your knowledge and understanding must be a technical leader, comfortable diving deep into technical solutions/issues
    • You act like an owner: You thrive when you're empowered to take initiative, go above and beyond, and deliver results
    • WHAT YOU'LL DO:Lead and inspire a team of engineers for IT operations and project support.
    • Hold teams accountable for quality of work, and achieving committed work with project timeline, mentor team members on improvements.
    • Drive continuous improvement and introduction of IT 'best practices' into all areas of process, metrics, and performance.
    • Coordinate resources to install and set-up server software and hardware upgrades.
    • Create better ways of solving technical problems and not be afraid of challenging the status quo.
    • Manage intake process for application project estimates
    • Communicate, lead PowerPoint presentations, and negotiate skills needed to facilitate brainstorming sessions, build consensus, and shepherd solutions through governance forums.
    • Define and manage resource allocations, monitor and improve quality, and ensure 'best practices are followed.
    • Grow your network, deepen existing relationships, and collaborate with others to ensure the team is connected to the right people and opportunities.
    • Promote collaboration among technology, product, and business teams.
