    Position Summary:


    Under the general direction of the Manager of Financial Reporting, the Senior Accountant will assist in the preparation, review and analysis of financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule for multiple entities within Signature Healthcare.

    The Senior Accountant position is responsible for preparation of general ledger entries and monthly account reconciliations to ensure financial statements presented are both timely and accurate.

    Position will assist with year-end audit, preparation of tax returns, and other reporting requirements.

    This is a full-time 40 hour/ week position

    Responsibilities:
    Responsible for monthly posting to general ledger from subsidiary systems. Identify all problems and assist in resolution
    Manage cash position including review, track, and reconcile daily cash activities
    Assist with the general ledger month end close and financial statement preparation and analysis
    Prepare and post journal entries with accurate and supporting documentation.
    Prepare account reconciliations, which includes quantifying and explaining all variances. Assist in the resolution of all variances that are other than timing differences
    Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with department policy and procedures
    Prepare schedules, work papers, and explanations for annual financial audits
    Prepare reports and schedules for annual tax filings
    Preparation of other reporting requirements as needed
    Assist in ensuring appropriate accounting controls and procedures are in place

    Take personal accountability to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met for monthly close, account reconciliations, audits, tax filings, etc.

    Work is self reviewed for accuracy and completeness in accordance to established standards before being presented to second level reviewer.

    Must be able to function independently and seek assistance when needed.
    Actively participates in Lean Management System of problem solving and willing to contribute ideas to improve processes, procedures, etc.
    Responsible for SMG revenue look back analysis
    Responsible for accounting for employee benefits and utility accruals
    Responsible for creating and maintaining Meditech report writer report

    Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:

    Education:
    BS in Accounting Required

    Experience (Type & Length): Minimum of three years of corporate accounting experience or public accounting experience performing audits. Nonprofit and fund accounting experience preferred.
