Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. • Must have a high School Diploma or GED.
• Must have or be able to obtain Arizona CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• Must have or be able to obtain CPR Certification.
• Must be able to assess concerns and complaints of students and proceed appropriately.
• Must sustain a safe driving record.
• Ability to use 2-way radio for communication.
• Must be able to operate all doors, windows and lifts on various school buses.
• Must be able to properly use car seats, seat belts, safety restraints and harnesses and must be able to move a wheelchair into the bus and secure properly.
• Ability to speak clearly and effectively to students, parents and District employees.
• Ability to manage groups of children.
• Sufficient rudimentary knowledge of bus mechanical operations to describe problems to mechanic.
• Knowledge of local streets and address system.
