    Create, plan, and execute an activities/programming calendar of events for resort guests, members, employees, and community throughout the recreational departments at the resort. Report to the General Manager and work alongside management teams to execute programming, events, social activities, and operational needs. A candidate who is creative, energetic, and reliable will have a great time creating memorable moments at Sandpiper Bay Resort.

    Responsibilities:

    · Planning event details and aspects, including: seating, dining, activities, payment

    · Ensures detailed and timely completion Purchase Orders and works with other departments to ensure amenities for the activities/events such as catering, AV, golf, spa, etc. are met making the event/activity successful

    · Create events to increase member and resort guest participation throughout the resort

    · Ensure proper completion of an event to include charging, return of third-party items and post event analysis

    · Develop event budgets and ensure that the execution of the event stays within the budget

    · Acts as a liaison with outside vendors to book rentals, entertainment, off-site activities such as tours, offsite dining, and events

    · Coordinate with Marketing Department to develop collateral for events through available channels – website, social media, e-mail, direct mail, newsletters, media advertisements, etc.

    · Work with Marketing to keep resort and member events calendars up to date

    · Develop an annual calendar of events complete with budget and anticipated revenue

    · Oversees outside vendor delivery, set up and teardown to ensure services are delivered as contracted

    · Tracks all upcoming events and communicates equipment needs, purchases, and staffing with applicable departments

    · Develops and creates unique event memorabilia

    · Creates and updates theme packages, propping, and designs for events

    · Maintains high level of knowledge of all features and benefits of the property

    · Maintains accurate and thorough data and history within hotel software for events, ensuring departmental teams receive timely event information.

    · Completes other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    · Possess a valid state drivers' license

    · Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to utilize them to interact effectively with resort guests, members, vendors and internal departmental staff

    · Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a focus on attention to details

    · Must be professional in appearance

    · Strong computer skills/knowledge of MS Office programs, Delphi, Opera, website content management and other communication software

    · Ability to lift, push, pull a minimum of 40 lbs., stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, reach or perform repetitive foot and hand action for an eight-hour shift

    · Possess enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a passion for event planning

    · Prefer a College degree preferably 4 year degree

    · Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required

    · Ability to manage multiple tasks at same time

    · Must be able to withstand working outdoors, to include a range of outside weather conditions (heat/cold, rain, etc.) and ability to withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight

    · Bi-lingual, preferred

    · Minimum 4 years of work experience in a resort or cruise ship environment
