- Provide leadership and technical direction to the manufacturing team
- Ensure that fabrication of all components is completed on schedule and performed in accordance with the fabrication drawing packets
- Coordinate & communicate schedules, project manufacturing status and durations with project leadership team and upper management
- Responsible for the overall department performance against schedule
- Ensure manufacturing compliance with established safety protocols
- Make sure shop safety protocols are followed and enforced
- Ensure that manufactured components meet Sentech's quality standards and drawing tolerances
- Establish long term department goals and monitors progress against goals
- Establish standards of practice for the manufacturing function
- Take an active role in the company's process improvement effort
- Develop and implement long-term strategy for the project manufacturing function including staffing, training, equipment needs and retention
- Work with department managers to establish a culture of continuous improvement
- Review manufacturing drawing packets and provide suggestions/ feedback to engineering regarding modifications to improve product manufacturability
- Strong technical competence in the areas of steel fabrication, aluminum fabrication, stainless steel fabrication, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and machining
- Strong planning and communication skills
- Demonstrated team building and management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop strong working relationships across all levels of the organization
- 15+ years of production management experience in the metal fabrication industry
- Experience managing shipping and receiving and inventory control activities.
- Hands-on experience in the area of steel, stainless steel and aluminum fabrication
- Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting

Position Overview:
Sentech Architectural Systems is an Austin-based specialty structural glass design, engineering and manufacturing company that serves the needs of progressive architecture and building industry professionals on some of the most unique and challenging structural glass projects in the world.
We are currently looking for an experienced Manufacturing Production Manager with strong leadership abilities, technical competence, safety knowledge, quality background and hands-on experience in the areas of steel, stainless steel and aluminum fabrication with significant exposure to welding, machining, finishing and sheet metal fabrication. The right candidate will provide leadership and technical direction to the manufacturing team, ensure adherence to timeline, scope and quality and work collaboratively with department managers to establish a culture of continuous improvement.
Our work environment is dynamic and challenging, and this position offers the opportunity to lead, organize and manage as part of a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team. The right candidate should be a self-motivated professional with 15+ years of production management experience in the metal fabrication industry. This is a full-time, onsite position with ample room for learning, development, and professional growth for those who demonstrate the desire and ability to work hard, adapt and learn the complexities involved in the structural glass industry and custom fabrication.
