    Description:

    Head- is seeking a skilled Senior Controls Engineer for our Client's team in Addison, IL. This individual will be responsible for delivering innovative automation solutions and designing standards either independently or as a team leader. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery to meet customer requirements. Key responsibilities include developing control system architectures, selecting components, detailing schematic diagrams and system documentation, and demonstrating functional knowledge of PLC/HMI/SCADA systems. Additionally, expertise in controls hardware, including control panel design, UL508A familiarity, motor control centers, hazardous area panel design, and industrial instrumentation, is essential.
    • The Ideal candidate must have strong technical experience and willing to perform a technical role and also be comfortable in a management and customer-facing role.
    • Will also support sales with new business as a subject matter expert.
    • Must be able to understand the business side and how fixed bid projects work and how to make them successful.
    • Must be a problem solver and an excellent communicator.

    Additional Information:

    Hybrid work model: Office, remote, and client site.
    Travel: Up to 25% around the Chicago area, with occasional out-of-state travel.
    Occasional overnight shifts required.
    No relocation assistance provided.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science preferred.
    • 15+ years of experience, with 20-25 years preferred.
    • Strong technical expertise with the ability to perform both technical and managerial roles.
    • Experience with large system process controls in industries such as Wastewater/Water Treatment, Petrochemical, Biochemical, or Nuclear.
    • Extensive experience in designing electrical schematics, particularly in power distribution across various voltages.
    • Proficiency with PLC hardware/software platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and Modicon.
    • Familiarity with HMI/SCADA hardware/software platforms such as Wonderware, GE iFIX, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk View, Schneider, and Siemens.
    • Understanding of DCS hardware/software platforms such as Emerson DeltaV or similar.
    • Ability to oversee daily operations and activities of projects up to $1.5M.
